about infant massage - $35/family

Learn how to use the ancient technique of massage on your newborn. Skin is the largest organ in the body and is the first developed in an infant. Touch and smell are baby's way of understanding and coping with the new and often stressful world out of the womb. Massage is an excellent way to help with colic and other gastrointestinal problems most newborns suffer. It is also extremely helpful for premature babies as touch is proven to be most effective stimulus for an infant’s physiological and neurological growth.

Group class great for dads, moms and moms-to-be.  Instruction of infant massage techniques and practice using your baby (or a doll for parents-to-be). This class will teach basic massage techniques; how to safely use oils during massage; how to swaddle baby during the massage; how to detect early infant communication and ways to comfort your newborn.

Baby’s First Massage in your home.  Let Shine come to you!  The mother will receive a 30-minute massage to relax and welcome her into motherhood.  We will then have Baby’s First Massage lesson for the parents.  This session will empower the parents and welcome the little one into the world. A great baby gift!

(with parent(s) and baby) Treat yourself & your baby to a private lesson allowing time for conversation about the pregnancy, the birth story, the baby, for soothing, feeding, changing and for teaching of massage techniques to do at home.  Learn how to safely use oils and how to swaddle baby during the massage; how to detect early infant communication and ways to comfort your newborn.

infant craniosacral

Because of its gentleness (with touch about the weight of a nickel), the first CranioSacral Therapy treatment can be done within minutes of birth. By correcting problems in the CranioSacral system, the development of colic, respiratory problems, hyperactivity, dyslexia, seizure disorders, floppy baby syndrome, and possibly cerebral palsy, scoliosis, and orthodontic dental problems may be avoided later in life.

Private  $70/hour

mother & baby massage package

includes six 60-minute massages for mom (your choice of combination pre- and post-natal) and baby’s first massage.

prenatal yoga - For mommies-to-be in their second & third trimesters.

postnatal yoga - For mommies and babies who are not yet crawling.

cherub yoga - For 3, 4, & 5 year olds and a favorite grownup.

Through stories and animal poses, young children and their grownup can play and breathe together in this 45-minute class.

family yoga  For School Age Children 6-12 and a participating grownup.

Connect with your child through movement and breath as we explore yoga poses that will ground, center, allow them to keep their flexibility.

These classes are dynamic, interactive preparation for childbirth as well as parenthood. During a six-week series, pregnant women and their partners practice being in labor; they acquire pain-coping techniques and tap into the intuitive knowing they already have about giving birth and parenting. Both mother and partner are prepared as whole people through education and initiation.

Music Together Babies Class- back to top

Every child’s development benefits from early exposure to music and movement. Because the early months are so important, Music Together offers two options for babies.  Babies eight months and younger at the time of registration may attend a Mixed Ages Class, whether registered on their own or attending free with an older brother or sister.

Babies may also take the special “Babies Class” offered as a one-semester introduction to Music Together. (This class cannot be repeated.) The music activities and materials are specially designed for parents who want to learn as much as possible about music development in infants.  Meet other parents of newborns and learn some fascinating music activities you can recreate at home with your baby.
